I have been told that the Skvere Rebbe, accompanied by hundreds of Chassidim, is coming to spend time in Lakewood, NJ. Banners have been sent to every single residence in the town celebrating his arrival and inviting people to attend Davening and Tishen.
Without involving myself in the age-old Machlokes between Chassidim and Misnagdim, one wonders what is the purpose of this visit? Lakewood is overwhelmingly populated by Litvishe people, and doesn't seem to need such public fanfare. Would a Litvishe Gadol visiting Squaretown publicize his arrival in this way? Absolutely not. So why the need for the Skvere Rebbe to do so?
Once again, I'm not injecting myself into the old Machlokes, but I see no need for this ostentatious arrival.

Welcome to the blog world! You indeed raise a valid point. Same with Tzedakah collectors. Do you think if I went collecting in Monroe Bais Medrash I would collect more than $10? Yet, all the chasidim come to BMG and walk out with bulging pockets!
You would collect thousands in Monroe . They are big on Tzedakah and chesed . Dont be so bigoted

btw, my husband was there last nite, and a guy came over to greet the rebbe, so R' Cohen introduced the guy as someone who has a shul in town. the guy told the rebbe that he is doing an addition on his shul and would like a bracha. the rebbe said he wants to be mishtatef, and pulled out some money and handed it to the guy. when he got home, he counted it up. $500 big ones!! !
its a very sad reality that he will walk out of here with alot of money while the local mosdos are drowning in debt. also by the one thing that skwere makes that the public could enjoy (the simchas beis hashoaiva) they dont let in litvishe people. they also recently republished the shulchan aruch without the biur ha'gra. i dont see why he should be warmly recieved here in lakewood.
Could you please clarify yourself? Do they really not allow Litvishe people into the Simchas Bais Hashoeiva?! It sounds incredulous!

I heard the Rebbe learns the Shulchan Aruch while covering the Biur Hagra. If this is the case, he is more than an am hooretz. He is a rasha.
